Unit Summary
Throughout this unit, I have really developed my knowledge about my career pathways and progression routes. I have talked about my skills and experiences, and since I did this unit, I have developed them even more.
I felt that throughout this unit, I wasn't too interested in going to University, but after doing some research, I have become slightly more interested and I am considering it as a possibility for the future after my foundation year (Year 14).

As someone who wants to go into the media industry, as in most industries, I would have to work my way up from the bottom of the hierarchy. As I have found out in research I did in a previous unit (Units 1,3 and 4), most people who go into the film industry start with a runner job, where they assist people who have jobs higher up in the hierarchy than them. For example, a production assistant (basically being a "runner") would help the assistant directors and the director to do their job by following their instructions and orders. "Production Assistant" is actually the course that I am going to be taking in my Foundation Year next year, so I will learn a lot more about exactly what the job entails and to build on my experience and skills.

Overall, I think this unit has helped me to have some more confidence about my future and my career, where I have learned skills like making a CV and a Personal Statement, which I had no knowledge of before.
I also made a showreel for this unit, that I think is extremely helpful, especially with the industry that I want to go into as a showreel can be seen as of the same importance as a CV, so I think by making it, it will hopefully help me be able to get employed.
