A job role that I am interested in is Post-Production, more specifically Video and Film Editing.

Through having worked on editing a projects in Media UAL and Film Studies, I have grown to really like editing in Premiere Pro and I have really developed my skills in it throughout.

Hard Skills Needed: 

• Premiere Pro experience and knowledge

• Computer skills

• File management and organisation

• Photoshop skills and experience

• Audio editing and management, and possible recording/remastering

Soft Skills Needed:

• Teamwork - when working with other creatives

• Communication - when working with other creatives

• Organisation - keeping files organised, in files, titles, etc.

• Commitment - committing to editing even though it is a long process, staying productive

I think I have developed all these skills quite well throughout working on units in this course. For example, in the Film Trailer unit, I developed my Teamworking and Communication skills where I had to work in a group with other students. In the Magazines unit, I became more familiar with how to use Photoshop and with my FMP last year, I became more confident with using Premiere Pro. I think learning and developing these skills will not only help me in my FMP this year, but also with my career in the Media industry in the future.
